Brad grew up on a farm in Iowa and graduated college from the University of Oklahoma. Brad moved to Las Vegas in 1989 and began his career in the mortgage industry. Brad’s industry experience includes originating, processing, underwriting and funding loans, or in other words, he has done it all. In 2011, Brad joined NOVA Home Loans and assisted them with opening their Clark County operations.
Brad has always believed that training and education are a critical piece in the development of any company and should be performed by the best resources the company has to offer. Because of that, Brad has trained hundreds of loan officers and support staff providing them with full access to his vast array of knowledge and experience. As a certified instructor for the Nevada Real Estate Division, Brad is committed to providing agents with ongoing training through the Education Exchange powered by NOVA Home Loans. Through these courses, the agents earn continuing education credits for a minimal charge.
Idalia Nayestani, Credit & Product & Development Analyst
Idalia Nayestani joined the Credit Services team in 2015. She worked with all verticals offered by Landsafe with a primary focus on credit, flood and appraisal departments. With several years as a project manager, a client relationship manager, and understanding of ancillary products, Idalia is able to implement solutions and systems that will benefit the team and organization while maintaining professionalism and service levels. Idalia is certified to give CE course in Arizona and Nevada and will assist with many of the classes offered.
Manny Hernandez, Senior VP, Lender Services
Manny Hernandez has been in the mortgage credit industry for over 20 years. His experience began as a team lead with a local mortgage credit reporting firm in Tucson, Arizona and grew to launching an in house credit reporting agency for a nationally ranked mortgage lender. The unique background of working with both a mortgage credit agency and for a mortgage firm has provided me with the knowledge and background to become one of the leading professionals in the mortgage credit industry.
Matt Garnes, Senior Loan Officer
Matt grew up in Southern California and joined the Marine Corps after graduating from high school. After the Marines he attended Saddleback College where he majored in Finance and Economics. He started originating loans in 1999 and moved to Las Vegas in 2003 where he has been originating loans ever since.
Matt is a committed loan originator with a vast amount of knowledge and experience in FHA, VA and Conventional financing. He believes communication, transparency and service are the cornerstones to his success throughout his career. Sheila has been calling Las Vegas home since 2001. Growing up with that San Diego air in her veins then started her 1st career in construction at 16 and grew to be one of the 1st female CPE’s and Project Managers, with a short stint as superintendent in Pasadena, in the company estimating, bidding and managing multi-million dollar projects. Construction is what brought her to Las Vegas just before 9/11 as a Group Manager. The company eventually merged with a Boston based company that ended Sheila’s growth there and set her on a new path.
Why Lending? Her brother thought she would be a perfect fit… and the rest is history From her analytical way with numbers, great touch with people and her solution based attitude, it all seemed like a natural fit for lending. She’s an “Ace” with engaging clients to consider their short and long term goals both for them and the property providing customized financing options for consideration. Sheila’s not a fan of saying NO, but HOW, she believes in empowering her clients so they can make the best decision to meet their goals.
Sheila- married for 33 years with 3 sons and 9 grandchildren! 6 Grandsons and 3 granddaughters! When she’s not breathing in that salt air in San Diego in her spare time with her family Sheila enjoys gardening, target shooting, singing. She’s also an avid Bunko player and tries to NEVER miss her monthly Bunko night! Sheila enjoys traveling. Sheila’s visited the Bahamas, won 3 trips to Hawaii and a trip to Catalina Island for Catalina Jazz Festival and she’s been to Israel. 1st place on her bucket list is visiting the Mediterranean, Azores, Spain all along the Mediterranean Coast. Who knows someday she may just retire in the Med!

Tom Higgins started his career in mortgage lending in 2000 and is thrilled to be a continuing education instructor. Tom’s experience with Secondary Marketing, Business Process Development, Training and loan origination has given him a unique perspective on industry changes over the past two decades. Working with Credit Services, he works closely with credit vendors, has a dedication to client relationships, as well as a personal drive to help borrowers overcome their credit challenges.
